How XDAQ™ connect

Pro
Design,

Professional.

Designed to Acquire the Purest Signal

Common Noise Sources in Electrophysiology

XDAQ™ is designed for optimal signal acqusition in the micro volt scale. XDAQ™ has improved against all noise sources except for loose pin or bad GND/Ref.

The common niose may come from motion artifacts, power line, connected equipment, environment noise like WIFI, loosing pin contacting, bad GND/reference and PC via USB.

Electrically Isolated Animal Circuit

XDAQ™’s animal ports are electrically isolated from the box. Thus effectively eliminates all noise sources such as power line, PC, equipments, etc coupled to the acquisition system.

Good to Know the TruGround

TruGround is a unique XDAQ™ feature that maintains separated ground nodes and their electrical path. On the animal side, there are unique grounds for signal and earth shield. These ground nodes are also accessible from the ground panel in the back of the XDAQ™. If you regularly build a faraday cage around your implant, try tying the faraday ground to the earth ground, which truly grounds the noise. TruGround makes noise optimization easy and logical.

Active Motion Artifact Rejection

XDAQ™ when paired with X-Headstage™ that is embedded with the electrode at the craniotomy can acquire neural recording that minimizes noise artifacts from movement, even in situation when the animal directly bangs to the wall.

Tuned to Deliver the Best Electrical Performance

Electrical power inputs are filtered and buffered to deliver a clean, stable power to the system. Sensitive analog signal path is carefully routed and impedance matched for best performance. The DAC and ADC circuits are individually calibrated for precision.

The XDAQ ™' s main board is full of detailed components.

Aluminum to Dissipate the Heat

A fanless design that leverages aluminum enclosure as heat sink to satisfy power demanding circuitries.

Open
and
Compatible.

XDAQ™ connects with open-source software.

Backward compatible with open-source software

Core functionalities of XDAQ™(recording and stimulation) can be controlled by open-source software packages from Intan Technologies or Open-Ephys.

XDAQ ™ can work well with Intan eadstage.

XDAQ™ works with existing Intan Headstages and Probes with Intan Chips

With an adaptor, you can use your existing RHD/RHS2000 based headstages from Open-Ephys, Intan Technologies, and more.

XDAQ ™'s software is easy to adapt to your workflow.

Open Software

Drive the XDAQ from a variety of software applications - ranging from the well known open source applications like OpenEphys to our own opensource XDAQ GUI to NeuroNexus' Radiens suite of applications. All XDAQ users get acceess to full Radiens license for 3 month.

Software

XDAQ™ RHX

Recording and stimulation X-Headstages with the XDAQ can be done using the modified XDAQ-RHX software based on the RHX from Intan Technologies.

XDAQ-OE Plugin

Our XDAQ-OE plugin supports recording headstages using the XDAQ. Plugin can be downloaded directly from the Open-Ephys GUI or download legacy version (based on v0.5.5.4) from our Github.

Radiens Analytics Software Suite by NeuroNexus

Radiens™ is the software suite that supports the entire electrophysiology workflow from data acquisition and control to advanced analytics, algorithms, and visualization.

XDAQ™ GUI

Our e-ink inspired control software is designed with user-centric philosophy, thus super easy to use. Data plotting is done using GPU accelerated API call so it is super smooth. It is also optimized for 4K screens so you can see the signal all together. Our software is open-source so you can easily adapt to your own workflow. Github coming soon.

The
Essential
Tool Chest

Every XDAQ™ drives a growing list of both hardware and software functionalities to support common research needs in electrophysiology.

A multimeter

Impedance Check

XDAQ™, when paired with X-Headstage™, can perform electrode impedance measurement, helpful to assess the electrode performance: baseline thermal noise and stimulus driving capability are highly correlated to electrode impedance.

electroplating

Electroplating

XDAQ™ with X3SR headstage can perform automated, high quality electroplating of various novel materials such as gold or PeDot to reduce electrode impedance. Constant current as small as 10nA can be used to deposit material in high precision, resulting in higher material quality. Electroplating can be useful to minimize impedance variation, increase charge delivery, and minimize optical or thermal noise.

Short circuit warning

XDAQ™ can control the Short Circuit Analyzer to check for short circuits in any combination up to 256 channels. This is particularly useful for researchers who build tetrodes that may need plating to reduce impedance. Having the ability to physically check for shorts, in any combination across, the entire electrode takes the guess work away from inferring shorts base purely on impedance values, which are often inaccurate.

warning of recognizing a bug

System Debugging

XDAQ™ features several self-test accessory kits to help troubleshooting against potential hardware problems.

Brainwave simulator: sends out known signal to XDAQ™.

Z-Tester: dummy probe with arrays of R/C circuits mimics various electrode model. Useful for calibration and verification of impedance measurements.

Stim-Tester: dummy probe with LED arrays connect to each stimulation channels help to visually check for stimulation or to easily visualize the simulation pattern on an oscilloscope.

Analog and digital wave

TTL Out & DAC Pattern Generator

XDAQ™ features a flexible pulse generator engine that can drive output channels, digital or analog, with programmable patterns to interface with other peripherals and equipments.
